This will instantly reset damage, or wipe any dirt accumulated, which tends to pile up while driving off-road cars in Forza Horizon 5. Some may like this look, but for others, it can be annoying to have to reset cosmetic damage every time a crash occurs. Thankfully, there is an option to turn off cosmetic damage completely.

To turn off cosmetic damage in Forza Horizon 5 and eliminate the need to repair cars, players should pause the game and navigate to the “Settings” menu, located in the “Campaign” tab. Select “Difficulty”, then go down to the “Damage and Tire Wear” option and change it to “None”.

No matter how many times players crash during Danger Signs, or how much dirt they gather attempting Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5, all of their cars will now look as pretty as when they first got them. This option can always be reverted if players change their minds later.

Turning off cosmetic damage is just one of the many hidden features present in Playground Games’ newest entry into the franchise. Players can also lower a car roof in Forza Horizon 5, and change to launch control if they are driving the correct type of vehicle.

Using launch control in Forza Horizon 5 is particularly helpful when attempting to post a good time during Drag Races. With cosmetic damage turned off, players can look good while rocketing up a drag strip, or any other area of the sprawling Mexican map.

Forza Horizon 5 is out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
