Vintage car tour drives through Iowa state parks on Saturday

Kevin Szcodronski of Ankeny and Ann Raisch of Eldora are crewmembers for Anna Rea the 1930 Ford Model A.

The State Parks Centennial Vintage Car Tour will make stops at Ledges, Big Creek and Spring Lake parks Saturday as component of a quest to take a look at all of Iowa’s state parks in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Iowa condition parks procedure, which was created in 1920.

The public is invited to be a part of the tour in their own automobiles, even if their vehicles are not vintage or basic.

The park visits have been at first prepared for 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic got in the way. Freshly rescheduled, it kicked off in southeast Iowa on Oct. 9 for a 6-day event traveling to 22 parks.

The tour scheduled features a three-day visit this week of 8 parks in southwestern Iowa. The 3rd and closing loop of the 2021 journey will be two times viewing six parks in west central Iowa, including Ledges. Check out the schedule at annareamodela.com/westcentral.
