The Happy Trails Parade, Street Fair & Classic Car Show returns to Apple Valley

Community chief Marcy Taylor reported she believes the Content Trails Parade, Street Honest & Basic Vehicle Show is the fantastic way to celebrate the “goodness of Apple Valley.”

The yearly fall competition will return on Oct. 9 with parade floats, marching bands, classic cars and trucks, foods, new music, suppliers and much more. 

Taylor, the founder of the Apple Valley Legacy Museum, said her group’s parade float will recreate a scene depicted in a 1960s promotional brochure that capabilities Roy Rogers and Dale Evans boasting “Apple Valley is for exciting.”

The brochure consists of an illustration of folks — quite a few carrying cowboy hats — swimming, dancing, cooking outside, enjoying audio and golfing, in accordance to Taylor, who also serves as president of the Mohahve Historical Culture.

About 40 parade teams will fulfill in the vicinity of Central Street and Freeway 18 right before they vacation west on south Outer Freeway 18 to Pawnee Road prior to dispersing on Powhatan Road.

“COVID-19 compelled us to terminate our party very last year, but we’re back and fired up to invite folks to our bash,” Village Celebration Coordinator Lovella Sullivan mentioned. 

The parade starts at 10 a.m. followed by the road fair and automobile exhibit from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at James A. Woody Park on the corner of Powhatan and Navajo roadways.

“Our two grand parade marshals consist of the Carpino household and the Alfaro family, who both possess places to eat in The Village.“ Sullivan said. “Tom Carpino and Gus Alfaro died previous yr and we thought we’d honor the households.”
