RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Community residents are crying foul after a manhole protect that by some means flew into the air and into the highway remaining their autos undrivable.

Ryan Zrakovi stated it happened on Sunday, Jan. 23, around 7:20 p.m. He and his girlfriend had been celebrating an anniversary, and made the decision to go out of their way for ice cream sandwiches. On their way back to her condominium, they hit something in the road, sending Zrakovi’s auto airborne.

“Dark out, poorly lit, and we have been coming down the highway when, all of a sudden, there is a manhole in the highway that we hit,” he explained. “I imagined I just had a flat tire. I considered, ‘Okay, I’ll place the spare tire on. Great to go.’ Immediately after seeking to place the spare tire on with no good results, I looked beneath, in the wheel properly and anything else. That is when I type of realized it is a great deal even worse.”

That initial driver is believed to have come about the flip at N 18th Avenue at a high price of speed, and hit the manhole, causing the deal with to go flying. That automobile was reportedly left on the scene, but the driver was nowhere to be observed.
